LAPT Members, 2022 is off and running! I hope the beginning of the year has found you healthy and with a sense of renewal. I know for me, the beginning of the year is always a busy time with people wanting therapeutic services. It can be hard to balance all I have to do with self care. I want to encourage everyone to keep, or create, a self care plan for yourself. Schedule into your busy day. Don't feel guilty about it. Use it to just play….You deserve it!.

Our annual conference is back this year in person and after a short postponement due to a surge in COVID in our state, we are preparing to welcome everyone to Xavier University in New Orleans on March 18 and 19 2022. Dr. Peggy Ceballos is our keynote speaker and will present "Exploring and Enhancing Play Therapists' Multicultural Awareness and Social Justice Advocacy". I hope everyone will join us for two days of fun and learning. (Click to see PDF with complete Program Schedule, Registration & Fees, etc. )

You can check out complete conference details on our website and register at

National Play Therapy Week is February 6-12! How are you going to celebrate and promote play therapy? APT has some great ideas and resources on their website, including great coloring signs to do some playful photos. LAPT would love to share your photos and plans on our social media platforms. Feel free to send your photos and plans to me at Looking forward to seeing how you promote play therapy!

Playfully Yours,
